The OVO Energy Tour of Britain is a cornerstone of the British sporting calendar.  It’s the UKs largest and most prestigious free-to-spectate cycle race, attracting 1.5 million spectators at the roadside and reaching over 30 million viewers worldwide on ITV4 and Eurosport.

On Wednesday 11^th September, stage five of the 2019 edition of the race comes to Birkenhead Park.

As part of the community activities on the day, and in keeping with our aim to transform Britain into a great cycling nation, we’re offering experienced riders the opportunity to complete part of the Tour of Britain stage five route with a full VIP package, including support cars and event hospitality.

The OVO Energy Tour of Britain Ride Out is a 30km (18.6m) moderately-paced escorted ride in small groups departing from Birkenhead Park at 11.15am and returning by 12.30pm. 

Spaces are limited and pre-registration is essential.  There will be no entries available on the day.

Please ensure that you have read and understood ALL EVENT INFORMATION before submitting your entry.

The cost of entry (£96 incl VAT and fees) includes:

• A full pro experience following the same route as the Tour of Britain, including GPX files and support vehicles
• Tour Club Hospitality in a private enclosure close to the start/finish line and riders podium
• Complimentary hot food and an open bar
• Bike storage and bag drop*
• Q&A with former British pros
• Podium photos

• 10.00am Tour Club Hospitality and Ride Out sign on opens, complimentary refreshments available
• 10.00am OVO Energy Tour of Britain riders sign-on for stage five (podium)
• 10.15am Q&A with special guests
• 11.00am Ride Out sign on closes
• 11.10am Ride Out rider briefing (start/finish line)
• 11.15am Ride Out departs
• 12.30pm Ride Out participants return
• 12.45pm Group podium photos
• 1.00pm Lunch served
• 3.15pm OVO Energy Tour of Britain stage five finishes (estimated)
• 3.30pm Tour Club Hospitality closes

* storage can’t be reserved and items are left at owners’ risk

Info for Riders

The OVO Energy Tour of Britain Ride Out is open to members and non-members of British Cycling, aged 16 and above.  

This is a non-competitive ride and all participants are required to remain with their designated Ride Leader.  The average speed will be approximately 16mph.

By submitting an entry you are declaring yourself physically fit enough to complete the 30km (18.6 mile) distance un-aided and are doing so at your own risk. 

Please ensure that your equipment and clothing are fit for purpose and for the British weather!
