Event Summary

Event Overview

Tour De Leicestershire is the on-road equivalent of the famous Leicestershire Round (footpath).  We have used this concept for five year.  This year we head off to tour Melton.

We have three distances (all entries charged at the same rate.)

22.5 miles "The Charnwood Up and Down".  This route starts with a climb up to Markfield.  It is mainly down hill after than.  We will stop in Woodhouse Eaves.  The return is via Bradgate Park.

58 miles "The Dog Leg" is the middle distance route that loops back after the stop at Dixon Farm to join the full circuit at the Wreake Valley village of Hoby.

80 miles is "The Dash to Melton", with fine views through leicestershire hills.  We take in Borough on the Hill, and circle Melton Mowbray, before returning down the Wreake Valley, then up through Ragdale, to return via Barrow on Soar, and the cycle bridge over the A6 (Loughborough Road).  There is a stop in Woodhouse Eaves.

Money raised from this event will support a Leicestershire based charity that supports vulnerable and destitute people.  The charity has links to over a hundred groups in the county.
