Event Overview
Choice of two distances around Essex starting and finishing in King George's Hospital - Goodmayes.
King George & Queen’s Hospitals Charity supports the two acute hospitals which is a catchment area of over 750,000 people. Our aim is not to subsidise the NHS but to enhance in any way we can the journey for the hospital user – the patients, staff and visitors.
We have funded medical equipment such as a £500,000 Rapid ARC Radiotherapy machine, wheelchairs for stroke patients, tranquil gardens for patients, staff and visitor use, children’s playrooms’ and sensory rooms, state of the art incubators for our Neo-natal ward, refurbishment of our children’s’ bereavement suite, with projects in the pipeline to refurbish the mortuary waiting room, A&E staff room and ICU/MDU family rooms….not to mention the everyday smaller bravery presents for children undergoing blood tests…sometimes it is the little things that make the biggest difference!
