Event Overview

We hope you can join us on 22nd June 2019 for what will be our 3rd year for holding our Mountain Bike event.  We hope to improve on what is already a great (proper) mtb route; It has plenty of tough climbs, but you will be rewarded with many fantastic views & numerous awesome decents.  We had fantastic feedback from this years & last years riders, so be sure to put it in your diaries.  

We will also be having the long and short routes available again for the event and we will try and organise some cooler weather 

Your registration fee goes towards developing cycle, horse and walking routes within the local areas.  


You will not be able to register online after 12 on the Friday Night                                                             

If you are registering on the day please bring cash where possible

  • Sign on open from 8 :00 am with Breakfast on site. We ride at 10 am. SY22 5 BJ finds Llanfyllin High School 
  • Don't forget a safely maintained bike, helmet, spares and safety kit including mobile phone and some food.  Helmets must be worn at all times on the course or we cannot let you participate in the event
  • Follow our marshals guidance, obey the rules of the road and be polite to other trail users
  • Any steep descents will be marked out as will any time you cross a road or have to travel along one.
  • The short route will be signposted after Llanfechain
  • Enjoy a shower at the end of your challenge

Info for Riders

Site open for registration and refreshments 8. 15am

The mass start will begin at 10am and all cyclists will be expected to complete the course by 5pm

There will be two water/feed stations 

Food available for riders and visitors 8am-6pm. 

Certificates for riders that complete the courses 

If extreme weather conditions forecast event will be cancelled the day before.

Age restrictions to apply

All riders should carry the following items:

  • A form of identification showing their name, address and the contact details of a person to be advised in the event of an accident.
  • Please bring helmet, basic toolkit, inner tubes, drinks and snacks, money, a mobile phone and a waterproof jacket.
  •  The event is run on public roads and trails and that all riders are expected to follow the Highway Code
  • showers are available after the event
Please note
  • This is a non-competitive challenge event – feel free to record your personal timings.
  • You will receive your rider number at Llanfyllin High School; and you must fit it to the front of your bike - please make sure it is displayed.
  • Late arrivals will be allowed until 10: 30am to start the event after that time you will not be allowed to take part.
  • Marshalls will all wear fluorescent jackets and you will be expected to follow their instructions at all times for everyone's safety.
  • A ‘sweeper’ will be following the riders to ensure that everyone returns safely.
  • On completion of the event please ensure that you pass through the finish line so your rider number is registered before leaving the area.
