A Dirt Crit is a cross-country mountain bike race for young riders aged 6 to 16. They are entry level events, designed to offer new riders the opportunity to try racing in a less pressurised atmosphere, as well as provide a competitive experience for more experienced riders.

This event, hosted by Ben Wyvis Cycle Club, is based at a community woodland classroom over a mix of woodland paths, fire roads & natural singletrack.

Closing date for on-line entries is 12 noon on Friday 12th October.

Info for Riders

Please note, Parking is in Evanton village centre at the two car parks opposite the Coop and along Chapel road. Parking marshals will assist you and direct you up to the top of Chapel road and along the path to the event centre.

Please allow at least 10 minutes to walk / ride up to the event centre and be considerate to residents along Chapel road and surrounding streets.

All riders must be signed on by a parent or guardian. Age is taken as that which the rider was on 1st January 2018. 

What riders need to bring

A Mountain Bike in full safe working order with bar end plugs.

A properly fitting helmet

Gloves

Appropriate clothing for the weather and for racing.

Dirt Crit Race Day Schedule

The following are approximate times but we will do our best to keep to schedule.

Sign on opens          9.00am

Sign on closes         10.30am

Course opens for practice    10.00am

Course closes for practice    11.30am

There will be guided practice laps for each age category.

Race Start Times

U6's  & U8's        From 12 Noon

U10's & U12's     From 12.35pm

U14's & U16's     From 1.40pm

Number of laps for U10 - U16 categories will depend on course conditions and will be displayed at sign-on.

Prize giving    2.30pm
