About the Event

Info for Riders

Level of camp - Beginner / Club & Racing Riders

Suitable for - Ages 6-16 years old

Cycling disciplines covered - This Camp will cover the generic techniques required for the six cycling disciplines, which include mountain biking, road, track, BMX, cyclocross and cycle speedway.

What to expect - Registration will take place each day at 8.45am for a 9.00am start. We will be coaching cycling techniques, etc. on the school premises. We will not be riding on the public highway at any time. The riders will be split into groups depending on their ability and age. The coaching will finish at 12.00pm, when the riders are to be collected and signed out by their parent or guardian.

Please bring:

  • Fully completed and signed Parental Consent & Data Protection Notice form, ensuring that all relevant Medical Information is included;
  • Rider's own road legal bike and cycling helmet - as this Camp is all to take place on the school’s fields and playgrounds, the ideal bike would be a Mountain Bike, but any bike that can be safely ridden on tarmac playgrounds and grass sports fields will suffice. ALL bikes MUST be road legal for safety reasons, i.e. have 2 independently working brakes, etc. ‘Stunt Pegs’ MUST be removed from BMX’s prior to the Camp, as they can cause accidents while riding in a group.
  • We would also strongly recommend a pair of Cycling Gloves;
  • Drinks and snacks;
  • Clothing, suntan lotion, etc. that will be required depending on the weather;
  • Riders MUST also bring any medication, etc. that is required. The coaches MUST be made aware of any medical conditions affecting your child and whether they can self-administer their medication. If they require help, please inform the Coaches.
