Event Overview

This Ride 4 All Sportive is split into two rides around the beautiful area of Richmondshire. The routes have been designed to let riders of all abilities take part and enjoy the stunning views this area has to offer. The beginner ride or the "Steady Eddy" covers just over 35 miles and is a superb ride for  riders who are looking for a smaller riding challenge. Whereas for the more experienced "Only 1 more mile" covers a challenging 75 mile route with two of the most challenging climbs in the area, The Stang and the climb up Grinton Moor. So the question now is, which one is for you?

Info for Riders

The Steady Eddy is a 35 mile circular route taking riders from the picturesque town of Richmond in North Yorkshire through Catterick Garrison. The main test for this route is the testing climb up the Range Road or Tank Road out of the Garrison. The route then weaves its way around the villages to the East of Richmond and towards Bedale before circling back on itself through the villages of Scorton, Brompton on Swale and back to Richmond via the little village of Skeeby. This route gives riders who have never participated in a Sportive the chance to get involved and put their riding skills to the challenge.

Our second ride is just over 75 miles and suitably named "Only 1 more mile" This figure of eight route encorporates our "Steady Eddy" route before crossing over at the transition area in Richmond and heading out into the hills. The first climb comes quickly with a short but testing ascent up Gallowgate and out into the beautiful villages of Kirby Hill, Newsham and Barningham. The route then turns and takes the riders up the challenging climb named The Stang. This long climb is a good test for even the most experienced riders. Once at the top riders are greeted by the stunning views before the descent into Reeth, This downhill section gives the riders the chance to catch their breath before the second challenging climb up  Grinton Moor. The ride then travels along the tree lined A6108 back into Richmond before the final climb to the finish area at Richmond School.
