Closed Circuit , Colwyn Bay – Sunday, 17 Jun 2018

Event Summary

Event Overview

Handcycling Go Race event on the finishing straight of the Women's Tour of Britain grand finale at Colwyn Bay.

There will be a turn up and ride session at 11:30-12:15 where riders can come and try the handcycles. This session will then be followed by a Go Race at 12:15-12:45. The race distance will be maximum of 0.5miles with a slight incline/descent midway. The race will either be an individual time trail or a mass start in small groups (to be decided on the day). Riders will be put into categories which will be decided on the day.

The bikes available to borrow will be top end Force G style handcycles which are racing style where the rider lies recumbent in a low-to-ground level position. Riders will need to be able to get into a low down lying position on the cycle and also push up again to get off the cycle, but transfering on and off these can be assisted to some degree by volunteers involved in the event.

The bikes will fit children from the age of 10/11years old up to adults.
