The Australian Pursuit Race is one of the Sunday afternoon events of the annual Cairngorm CC race weekend which this year has the same recipe of events as usual. You can enter any or all as you wish. 

 The other events of the weekend are:

  • the Mackie Trophy TT on Saturday morning
  • the Cairngorm Hill Climb TT on Saturday afternoon
  • the Kincraig 10 mile TT on Sunday morning
  • the Sally Anne Low Memorial Women's Race also on Sunday afternoon

About the Event

Info for Riders

Cyclists start in groups of similar ability, separated by pre-set time intervals with the fastest riders starting last.  Riding in bunches and drafting the other cyclists is permitted.

Starting on the straight section of the B9152, by the Kincraig Wildlife Park, follow this road south into Kingussie.  Turn left onto Duke Street, then right onto Spey Street then left onto Station Road.  Cross the level crossing and follow the B970 out of Kingussie.  Continue on the B970 past Ruthven Barracks and through Insh to turn left by Insh Hall and descend to Loch Insh.  Cross the end of the loch on the long road bridge and climb up The Brae to the T junction with the B9152.  Turn left here towards Kingussie to pass the entrance to the Wildlife Park again (one lap completed)  The race continues for most of a second lap with the finish being almost at the top of The Brae in Kincraig, by the entrance to the Ossian.
