Otley Reliability Ride Sunday 18th Feb 2018 – entry £4

This is Ride 5 of the 'Hateful Eight' Yorkshire Reliability Rides

A Reliability ride is all about participants demonstrating that they are a ‘reliable rider’, by completing a ride within a specified time. Otley Cycle Club's has two routes:

  • 100K ride to Kettlewell and return in 3.5 hours
  • 50K ride to Barden and return in 3 hour.

Groups of cyclists work together to ensure that they get around the course safely and within time. All riders are required to be self-sufficient;  They need to repair their own bikes and take any food etc. with them on the ride.

This event takes place on the open roads and rules of the Highway Code must be followed at all times.

This reliability ride has been going for over 20 years. Profits go towards Otley Cycle Club's work to promote cycling.  It is essential that you pay on the day, otherwise you won't be insured.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Signing on starts at 8.45 A.M. at the Buttercross (LS21 3HN) in Otley (market place in the town centre). Cost to ride the event is £4 person.

Entry Cost is £4.00 per person, or £5.00 to include tea/coffee at the post ride cafe.

  • Wristbands are issued to all paid riders. 
  • Those who pay the extra £1 tea/coffee receive a wristband marked 'Cafe'

You will also have the option of paying £5 meaning you will get a prepaid tea/coffee at the finish.

Approximately £2.00 per rider goes to British Cycling to provide insurance for the event.

Leaving Otley

Remember this is not a race!!

We have to share the roads with other road users. Look after one another and have a safe ride.

Returning to Otley

Please sign off at Chevin Cycles Ltd Otley Shop and come and eat CAKE!

Tea/coffee cakes and an abundance of food will be available at Otley Cycle Club Clubroom (LS21 1JH), located 50 yd down the cobbled lane from Chevin Cycles (LS21 1BR).
