*******Update 9/4/2018******

Dear riders,

Unfortunately due to a number of unforeseen factors this year’s Boxford Tornado has been postponed. This decision has not been taken lightly, but with the safe running of the event and safety of riders being our main priority we face no alternative.

Having risk assessed the route in the past few days, we feel the general road conditions are unsafe for a mass participation event like the Tornado. The route uses many smaller back lanes and rural roads which are unfortunately peppered with a high number of potentially dangerous potholes and debris from flooding. In past years we have worked closely with Suffolk County Council to make sure the roads used are in a satisfactory condition, but because of the backlog of work, the necessary repairs will not be completed in time for the event.

In addition the unprecedented cold and wet weather over the past few weeks has meant that the field we use for parking is currently unsuitable for vehicles to use.

These factors coupled with unexpected road closures that are currently scheduled on the route has forced us to this difficult decision.

Now for the good news!

We will be in contact shortly with a new date for the Boxford Tornado 2018. We understand this new date may not be convenient and if this is the case we will provide details on how to receive a refund.

This will of course give more preparation and training time for those who have been trapped indoors over the last few, miserable weeks!

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support for the Boxford Tornado, we try hard every year to make this event as safe and enjoyable as possible for all participants, whilst remaining great value for money. We hope we’ll do this again this year!
