Event Overview

Event Summary Women and Girls Rider Developments Sessions provide a dedicated coaching environment for females wanting to improve their cycling performance.

All sessions are delivered in a safe environment by a Go-Ride BMX coach

  • Ride with friends or other riders
  • Learn about the cycling specific sport of BMX 
  • Develop BMX specific techniques
  • Develop cycling fitness
These sessions will be delivered over 6 weeks, starting with the basics of body position and pedaling then progressing to cornering, pumping and riding in small groups.

These sessions are designed to be technically and physically challenging in a safe, fun and supportive environment. These sessions are 1.5 hours of coaching alongside riders of a similar ability.

Helmets, gloves and bikes will be provided if required.

Dates are 25/09;02/10;09/10;16/10;30/10;06/11.

Non British Cycling members are welcome to attend but membership is encouraged: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/membership.

Level of the sessions - beginner

Suitable for - Woman and girls (aged 14+)

Cycling disciplines covered - BMX

What to expect - The first session session will start with an introduction to the BMX track at Cyclopark,  BMX clothing and BMX bikes and how to ride a BMX bike. Each week new BMX skills will be introduced progressing to riders riding the BMX track with confidence and in small groups.

Please bring - clothing suitable to the session(arms and legs must be covered whilst riding on the BMX track), drink and snacks.

Helmets, gloves and bikes will be provided if required.
