About the Event

Info for Riders

The same recipe of events as usual! The 2017 Cairngorm races have been grouped as two "events" - Saturday races and Sunday races - but you can still enter any or all as you wish.

The Cairngorm Hill Climb starts at 9 am and is an 8 mile route from Coylumbridge to the Coire Cas carpark on Cairngorm.  Gentle gradients for about 4 miles take you to a flat section of about 2 miles, then a stiff climb from Glenmore to the top.

The Mackie Trophy is a 14 mile undulating time trial round the loop of roads. It goes towards Aviemore from Inverdruie, turns left onto the B9152 to Kincraig where you turn left down the brae and return to Inverdruie by the B970 past Fehiebridge.  This is a narrow and twisting road which requires careful riding and use of brakes!
