Event Overview

The Ribble Valley has masses of great riding on offer, whether you like riding on quiet undulating roads or challenging yourself on some of the countries best Climbs!

We will be donating the profits from Le Grimpeur to BPMRT, our local Mountain Rescue team.

This event features, The Nick O' Pendle, Pendle Big end (KOM in stage 2 of 2015 ToB), Waddington Fell, Cross of Greet, Bowland Knotts, Whalley Nab & Jeffey Hill, linked together by some beautifully scenic, undulating quiet lanes.

The Pendle loop (25m) takes you over the Nick O' Pendle and returns over Pendle's Big end. We've also used our local knowledge to introduce some less known (but equally great) climbs en route.

The Bowland Fells loop (43m) is comprised of 3 challenging and scenic climbs. Firstly, you will ride over Waddington Fell, before riding over Cross of Greet, returning over Bowland Knotts. This loop is the longest of the three and also features the most climbing at over 5,000ft!

The Ribble loop (58m) has been developed further for 2017 and includes some of the areas steeper climbs. The final route takes you up; Birdy Brow, Whalley Nab, Jeffrey Hill, Marl Hill and returns to Clitheroe via Waddington Fell.

If you challenge yourslf to ride all 3 routes, you will climb over 14,000ft and ride 125m, or 200K!

Info for Riders

'Le Grimpeur' is an opportunity to test out your climbing legs. Whether you are aiming to ride just the Bowland fells loop or all 200k, this will be a challenging day, so we won't be using a timing system (although there are some 'Grimpeur' STRAVA segments), all we ask is that you start each loop within the allotted time slots. Pendle Loop - 7:00 Bowland Fells Loop - 9:00 Ribble Loop - 12:00 - 14:00 Freshly prepared food and drink will be available throughout the day in our cafe, whether you want a quick snack between loops, lunch and a rest or cake (you'll have earned it!) to celebrate your achievement, all entrants will recieve a £5 voucher for the cafe.
