Event Overview

Our third annual Charity Sportive this year makes its Grand Depart from the fabulous and unique National Coal Mining Museum at Cap House Colliery, Overton between Huddersfield & Wakefield taking fantastic scenery in Calder Valley & the picturesque Holme Valley. This year raising funds for our charity partners Kirkwood Hospice and the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust.

Our event is a charity fundraising event and not for profit, all proceeds after running costs are donated to our charity partners.

The route passes through some of the most stunning and challenging scenery and sites in Yorkshire and part of the route takes in some less well known roads used by many local clubs for training in our tough terrain.

Our supporting partners Ramsdens Solicitors, Barclays and Asparagus Green at the NCM will provide pre-ride snacks, a feed station at the mid point and warm food at the end of the ride.

At just under 68km; although not overly long the route takes in some breathtaking climbs and offers a genuine challenge to riders of all abilities.

In addition this year we have added an alternate shorter route for riders who want a challenge but may be put off by some of the more serious climbs on the longer route or who are perhaps newer to the sport and are just starting out on their cycling journey.
