Event Overview
The Wallingford Festival of Cycling enters its 2nd Year with an expanded programme that aims to see around 3500 people taking part in as many different forms of cycling as we can fit in.
This includes Sportive, Mountain Bike Rides, Family rides, Go Ride Childrens Races, Wallingford Rides for Beginners, Penny Farthings and much more.
Our competitive programme includes a mens road race and town centre criterium races for Youth, Men and Woman. We aim for a day of great riding and great entertainment in our beautiful market town by the River Thames in Oxfordshire. We are a not for profit event with any surplus going to support RP Racing Team or cycling coaching for local children. We are expecting around 6000 spectators and have to thank Wallingford Town Council, the people of Wallingford, South Oxfordshire District Council and Oxfordshire County Council for being wonderful hosts. The programme starts at 8:45 and finishes at 19:30 and see our website for details of hotels, campsites and B&B's.

The Sportives will explore the amazing Chilterns including several great ascents and descents plus a water and food stop. These events are supported by a broom wagon and finishers will get a certificate. After the ride we have secure bike parking for you to enjoy the rest of festival.
Wallingford Rides consists of three 10-12 minute rides starting from the town centre at 1 pm, 3.45 pm and 7.10 pm. Any rider completing each of these three rides at any speed who starts each ride and finishes each ride from the holding pen in St Mary's street will recieve a free festival T-Shirt and a certificate courtesy of South Oxfordshire District Council. Any children can ride this event for free but adults/teenagers over the age of 15 years old who want to win the T-Shirt must enter via this system. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A BRITISH CYCLING MEMBER TO DO ANY OF THESE EVENTS.

Please see our website for details of where to park and what time to arrive. The individual event organisers will email entrants all the necessary information prior to the event. Our routes are carefully selected, risk assessed and sign posted. We have broom wagons and support teams to assist where necessary.
Most of all our rides are stunning taking in the beauty of South Oxfordshire and the Chiltern Hills.
