Event Summary

Event Overview

The Wootton Riders Sportive is an on-road event for riders from the experienced to the beginner. The two circular routes take our riders through the picturesque scenery of the Cotswalds country side, winding through stunning villages and country lanes, starting at Wootton Village heading towards Stonesfield, riding down country lanes to Crawley, Leafield, back up to Chadlington, our 1st feed station, great for riders to refuel on homemade cakes, flapjacks, smoothies, & refreshments for purchase, made by the lovely ladies of Chadlington play group. Riding on country lanes to Dean up to Enstone, perfect for 102km riders to refuel on delicious homemade cakes, sausage rolls & refreshments for purchase, before their challenging climbs. Riders will continue onto Kiddington on country roads where just after, the routes will split, 50 km riders will turn right at Whitehouse Cottages T intersection, continue down country lanes back to Wootton Village. The 102 km riders, turn left at Whitehouse Cottages, heading toward Standford St Martin, carry onto Little Tew, Sibford Gower, Hook Norton, up to Swalcliffe, down beautiful lanes to Wigginton, across to Barford St Michael, to North Aston down to Middle Aston, through to Rousham across to Glympton, back to Wootton Village. Our mobile photographer will be postioned at various points on the routes to take pictures.

The Sporty 50km ride is designed to inspire new comers from the age of 11 to have a go. The challenging 102km ride (splits from the 50km ride) is more for the serious Sportive riders with some challenging aspects.

This event is organised by Friends of Wootton School, (Charity Number 1091909) to raise much needed money for Wootton-By-Woodstock (CE) Primary School. The entry fee will go towards raising funds for new resources, educational toys, books, equipment and school trips.

Any fundraising cyclists wish to do for your school or desired charity is welcome at your own discretion. A pre event riders pack with Sponsorship Forms and useful information will be sent to you after registration.

All cyclists between the age of 11 and 18 must have  the completed Consent Form (available on our website) with them on the day. If the rider is under the age of 16, he/she must have a parent or guardian to ride with.
