Event Overview

The Sedbergh Sportive takes place on 19th June 2016 offering 2 distances of 30 and 70 miles. Entry fees of £25 and £35. All entry fees and sponsorship money raised will go to the Sedbergh School Roger Lupton Scholarships.

The Sportive will be part of the Sedbergh Cycling Festival (18/19 June) with a grass track meet https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/139666/Sedbergh-Grass-Track-Meet, mountain biking, watt bikes, food stalls, trade stands, music, bar, film shows and camping - http://www.trybooking.co.uk/PS .

About the Event

Info for Riders

The 70 mile route includes the Buttertubs climb featured on the first day of the Tour de France stage in Yorkshire and is extremely challenging with over 5400 ft (2,000m) of ascent and a hilly or undulating route along the way. The shorter 30 mile ride heads along Garsdale from Sedbergh towards Kirkby Stephen and back to Sedbergh along the valley. Breakfast on arrival, feed stations en route and a meal voucher for the festival afterwards.
