Event Summary
Event Overview
Round The Beat is a fun, friendly sportive held in aid of the Jane Tomlinson Appeal. Starting and finishing at Wetherby Sports Association, cyslists can take on either a 50 mile or 104 mile course.
The event was founded in 2012 by Police Sergeant Dave Holden with help from Sgt Mark Atkin and Sgt Darren Beech. Teaming up with the Jane Tomlinson Appeal in 2013, the event has grown and evolved into a fun and challenging course for all abilities.
2014 saw more hills and more miles added along with the 50 mile option, though the event retains its signature climb of Black Hill Road. Raising thousands for The Appeal, the event has become a fantastic fundraiser with 2015 seeing record entries of 155 riders.
Please Note: Due to the recent flooding, some areas of the route are no longer passable and therefore 2016’s route will be slightly altered. We will endeavor to ensure that the updated route is just as enjoyable and challenging as previous years and that route distances are retained
2016 online entries are open from 1st January and will be on a first come first serve basis.You can view and download the event routes at http://rtbsportives.weebly.com/
