Start times - Long 9am, Inbetweener 9.15am and Short route 10am

Whether you are a Wannabe Wiggo or more of a part time pedaller, whether you ride a  Pinarello or a vintage velo, Arts Alive, Flicks in the Sticks and cycling event company Rideventures have combined forces to create a day of cycling, fresh air and fun in the beautiful south Shropshire hills. This will be a friendly event with something for everyone.  We are the only West Midlands sportive to be recommended by the Breeze Network.

All route options will be clearly signed, with marshalls at the route splits to confirm your direction.

Cycling helmets must be worn at all times by participants.

3 route options - you can change which route you ride on the day at any time:

  • The Clun Long One - 68 mile/110km hilly for the dedicated cyclist who likes a challenge - 1,500m of climbing over iconic Shropshire hills - interactive map
  • The Clun Inbetweener - new for 2016 - a middle route around Norbury - 43miles/70km - interactive map
  • The Clun Short One - 28 mile/44km route with a few gentler climbs. Come in fancy dress or best retro gear - interactive map

En route there will be cake stops at village halls for refuelling, when you are back there's a cuppa and a cake and delicious hot food will be on sale from local vendors.

Tour d'Arts Alive is a fund raising event for Arts Alive the charity that brings professional live performances, big screen films and live satellite screenings to communities all over Shropshire and Herefordshire.


Entry fee £20 per cyclist.

Entry Rules:

  • Age restrictions - Clun Long One for 16 and over riders, Clun Inbetweener and Short One for 13 and over, no upper age limit
  • Parental consent - if you are under 18 a parent must fill in a consent form to say you can take part - we will email the form to you -  print it out, fill it in and sign then post it back to us
  • Under 16 - you must be accompanied by a parent on the ride
  • Types of bike - drop-handlebar racing bikes, hybrids, touring, Bromptons/commuting, mountain, tandems all permitted.  NOT allowed - trikes, recumbents, unicycles, electric bikes.

  • New Inbetweener route - 45miles/70km - for those who want a new challenge
  • Free tea and cake back on the finish line

  • Pushing the last food stop further on in the route - making it better placed for all riders
