Event Overview

Taking place on the weekend of the Western Lakes Cycling festival the MTB challenge gives riders the opportunity to utilise parts of the motorcycle enduring route situated with the Lost her and Uldale forests, locally known as Dent

The ride utilises tracks, paths and fire roads within the Forestry Commission land

The event starts in Cleator Moor with an initial short ride to the Nannycatch Road where riders begin their ascent through the Uldale Forest to reach the Lowe slopes of Dent fell. A short descent takes riders into the Uldale Valley before ascending to Cold Fell. Descending through the Lost her Forest brings riders back into the Uldale Valley and a well stocked feed station

After a further ascent towards Dent riders then have the option to complete one or two further laps of the course

The initial lap is 12 miles with 2000ft of ascent

Subsequent laps are 9 miles with 1600ft of ascent

Refreshments will be provided at the start and finish along with a well stocked feed station at Uldale
