The 2015 Etape Du Sussex Cyclosportive

Cycle Sportive , Burgess Hill – Sunday, 14 Jun 2015

Event Summary

Event Overview

This year at the Etape du Sussex SRS Events are happy to announape that the Voice of Cycling Phil Liggett is down to take part.

Phil will be promoting awareness of the charity he is Patron of which is 'Helping Rhinos Charity'.

Keep an eye on the update button above for more exciting news to come about the event.

The Etape du Sussex embraces the wonderful countryside of East and West Sussex. The event starts and finishes in the centre of Burgess Hill.

There are three stunning routes to choose from to test all abilities. All routes start off relatively flat before heading into the Ashdown Forest area where most of the major hills for all three routes reside.

It's fair to say that the Etape du Sussex is a ride of two halves, with the first half being much hillier than the second half. This difference in terrain on route means that to set your best time on the Etape du Susse and get that coverted gold standard, you have to gauge where you personally can make up the most time.  Do you go fast in the first half, climbing the hills as quickly as possible and then hope you can keep the speed in your legs for the rest of the route? Or do you take it slightly easier on the hills in the first half, to be able to put your maximum effort into the flatter roads in the final miles back to the finish ?

A popular cyclosportive event that starts in the centre of the Burgess Hill where British cycling members can get a discount on entry via the British cycling on-line entry page.

Details of how you can get a refund of your entry fee if you raise a certain amount for the Helping Rhino's Charity are coming soon.
