CHILDREY SPRING CLASSIC

 

REGISTRATION: Opens at 8:15 am at the Fletcher pavilion, Childrey Playing Field – OX12 9NT

START TIME: From 9:00am to 9:30am

In its second year, the Childrey Spring Classic is a locally run event aimed to kick start the spring cycling season. This is intended to be a sportive with a difference by offering a friendly event where you get value for your money.  There will be free bacon rolls, cake, tea and coffee at the end to refuel as well as some useful goodies to help with the ride e.g. water bottle and energy gel. 

*******Each entry will go into the Oakley sunglasses raffle*******

There are a choice of 2 routes which you can choose on the day, a short ~50km flat route or more challenging ~100km route with a few good climbs.

There is no chip timing but we will record times, which will be sent out a few days after the event.

Also to note:

  • Comprehensively and clearly marked routes
  • Free car parking (and plenty of it)
  • Minimal mechanical support
  • Showers, changing facilities and toilets available at HQ
  • Hot drinks, bacon rolls and locally baked cakes will be provided after the ride
  • All profits go to maintaining the facilities of the Childrey playing field

Entry @ £15.00 per rider. 

Entry limited to just 175 riders, so sign up now to avoid disappointment.

We'll send you a confirmation email on entry and an update a week before the event with registration details and the course routes.

In it second year, the Childrey Spring Classic returns after a great successful 1st year. Everyone seemed to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the event HQ and there was great feedback. Taking in some great scenery in South Oxfordshire and Wiltshire around the Ridgeway. 60 Mile Long route or shorter 30 mile flat. Decide on the day which one you want to do. ******Specifically no tri bars for this event and helmets are mandatory *******
