Event Overview

Organised by Hadleigh Cycling Club and forming part of the inaugural Hadleigh Cycling Festival, the Gayford Flyer will take place on Sunday September 20th. 

Like its namesake the routes will originate from the historic market town of Hadleigh, Suffolk. Heading out into the idyllic South Suffolk countryside, riders will enjoy quiet country lanes and some of the counties hidden gems.

Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or complete novice, there is a route to suit your ability.

Info for Riders

The Gayford Flyer named in recognition of Hadleigh's world record breaking aviator, Oswald Gayford. The routes will take riders past landmarks including the Gayford family home, Oswald Gayford's final resting place in Naughton Churchyard, RAF Rattlesden and RAF Wattisham (where he served as commander). Feedstation, mechanical support, broom wagon, signage, and once you have crossed the finish line you can celebrate your achievement with family and friends while enjoying post-race food, drink, entertainment. For further details: www.thegayfordflyer.info Helmets compulsory. All riders under 18 must submit a consent form completed by their parent/guardian (forms will be supplied by the event organisers prior to event). Riders under 16 must also be accompanied by a parent/guardian with a valid entry.
