Event Summary
Event Overview
The second of three sportives taking place in Copeland in 2015.
With three choices of distance - 30, 45 or 73 miles the rides provide distances suitable for all abilities.
Rides start and finish on Whitehaven harbour. From the start all rides head out of town towards Kirkland before descending into the Ennerdale Valley to travel across Cold Fell towards Calderbridge
From Calderbridge riders taking part in the one valley route head back towards Whitehaven via the coast road and St Bees.
Riders taking part in the two and four valleys rides head towards Gosforth and then onto Santon Bridge where there is a feed station. From here riders taking part in the two valleys ride head back to Gosforth and then Calderbridge before their return to Whitehaven.
From Santon Bridge, riders taking part in the four valleys ride, ascend Birker Fell and travel along the Ulpha Valley to carry out the ascent of Corney Fell, before heading to Holmrook where there is a second feed station. After travelling throug Seascale riders then rejoin the short route at Gosforth for the return to Whitehaven
There is a four hour cut off time at Santon Bridge for riders wanting to complete the rlong route
