Round Reading 150

Reliability Trial , Spencers Wood – Saturday, 26 Apr 2014

Event Summary

Event Overview

Round Reading 150 was born out of an idea to create a 150 mile training ride for a 310 mile 24 hour endurance ride I am competing in later in the year.

We then came up with the idea of raising money to support Macmillan for the amazing work that they do, and in order to facilitate the maximum donation to this amazing charity AW Cycles Tech Centre, Wokingham have generously stood as sponsors to the event whilst Swallowfield Velo Club act as treasurers and support on the day, providing volunteers to lead groups and sign riders in and out of the event.

Round Reading 150 is fully supported by British Cycling and as such £1.20 of each entry will be deducted for insurance purposes meaning a minimum of £10.80 per entry will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event will take the format of a Reliability trial, non-competitive and non profit, there will be 3 pre determined coffee/ food stops en route at approximately 45 mile intervals and groups will start at 5 minute intervals with average group speeds ranging from 10- 20 mph average. Routes will be finalized 2 weeks prior to the event.

Round Reading 150 anticipates starting at Spencers Wood Library, parking is available on the Basingstoke road in Spencers Wood, and in Shinfield by school green. We are currently in discussions with local businesses for use of their car parking facilities and further information will be circulated to all entrants by email with final route details 2 weeks prior to event. Please keep an eye on our facebook page for updates.

We would like to remind all participants to be mindful that we are starting the event in a residential area. We ask you to be considerate of noise levels as this is an early morning start, thank you.
