Referee. Jordan Stant (Suffolk ) .
Ipswich Whirlwinds travelled to neighbours Great Blakenham with a slightly
changed team due to injury to Leon Mower in which he picked up during last
weeks match against the Eagles ,this gave a chance for Phil Clarke to come in as
his replacement for the afternoon and gets his first match under his belt .
Ipswich knew they were going into this match not having to give away any penalty
points and were expecting a tough test with Blakenham able to boast with the likes
of the Osborne brothers and Adam Peck and they were looking forward to the challenge,
unfortunately this wasn't the case as Blakenham had a very depleted side and with Lewis
Osborne the only rider to offer any resistance to the Whirlwinds onslaught it was very much
a one sided affair which saw all the Ipswich riders pick at least one heat win each in the process,
matches like this are not much fun for the riders of both teams and don't make for good entertainment either for the spectators , it was a good all round team performance and a
good chance for the team manager to work on partnerships , there will be tougher tests to come for the Whirlwinds during the season with Hethersett Hawks up next at Whitton for what will be the top of the table clash and most likely to be the top two come the end of the season but for the time being the Whirlwinds are blowing away all before them ,with a strong spine in the heart of the squad and two up and coming stars in Ben Harvey and Pierce Bacon who have both settled into the team and don't look out of place it looking good for the Whirlwinds .
After three matches the Whirlwinds averages are as follows ;
Josh Brooke 3.88 , Jamie Chittock 3.83, Lewis Roberts 3.66, Leon Mower 3.54,
Pierce Bacon 3.05, Ben Harvey 2.94, Phil Clarke 2.00 .
Ipswich Eagles picked up their first win of the season with a comfortable win over Keagrave ,
while their under 16's and combinations sides collected their second wins of the campaign aswell .
South East Div1. Ipswich Eagles 114  Kesgrave 79.
South East Com. Ipswich Eagles 100  Kesgrave 56.
South East U16's Ipswich Eagles   71  Kesgrave 59 .
