Event Overview

The event is a collection of 3 rides;

40k Radleigh Homes City Tour. Taking in Darley Abbey, Quarndon, Ockbrook, Borrowash, Elvaston Castle.

80K Cycle Derby Challenge. Taking in Carsington, Wirksworth, Whatstandwell and Elvaston Castle.

160k Countrywide Pursuit. Taking in Carsington, Hope Valley, Chatsworth, Beeley Moor and Crich.

The Sportive aims to get local cyclist, families and bring club riders to the county to experience the wonderful cycling Derbyshire has to offer. With the Velodrome opening in Pride Park in October 2014, the Sportive aims to help Derby become one of the leading cycle cities in the UK.

The Cycle Derby Sportive also offers a 2.7 km fully inclusive family ride that caters for any age and any ability. The course starts and finishes at the Velodrome and takes in Alvaston Park. Why not do it for charity as you can ride it as many times as you like?

For people with a disability, Cycle Derby will be on hand at the Velodrome for advice and assistance, we even have a limited number* of amazing specially adapted bikes to hire so anyone can take part in the ride.

There’s a café and children’s play area in Alvaston Park so you can take a break during the ride and enjoy some time with friends and family.

* Bikes will be available on a first come, first served basis. Please contact cyclederby@derby.gov.uk for information regarding the fleet
