The Delivering Inclusive Cycle Training Workshop is a one-day continuing professional development (CPD) workshop. It supports the information supplied within the British Cycling Level 2 Coaching Riders with a Disability Handbook and the Department for Transports Delivering Inclusive Cycle Training guidance.
The workshop will assist instructors with their ability to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of safe, ethical and effective instructing sessions and be able to integrate all trainees into their existing sessions. The modules covered within this workshop include:
- Outside Practical delivery.
- Managing Behaviour.
Upon successful completion of the workshop, instructors should be confident and better equipped to work with trainees with specific needs and to make their cycle training sessions inclusive. As the workshop is a CPD module, instructors will not receive a qualification, however a certificate of attendance will be provided upon completion of the course.
British Cycling will provide a range of adapted bikes for the practical sessions, however if you have access to any please bring them along to the workshop.
Candidates do not need to be competent cyclists to take part in the activities. If you are unable to take part in the practical session for any reason (e.g. illness or no helmet), please inform the Cycle Training team prior to the course so that alternative arrangements can be made to involve you in the activities.
