Set in acres of green space, Palmer Park Stadium provides a great venue for one of our HSBC UK Disability Cycling Hubs. The velodrome was originally built at the turn of the 20th century, making it one of the oldest in the country.
The disability hub offers monthly traffic-free coaching for people with a physical or learning disability, facilitating access to the sport and ensuring that those wanting to improve their cycling performance receive the support they need.
There are several HSBC UK Disability Hubs situated across the country, with each specially designed to help riders improve their fitness, cycling technique and confidence on a bike. The hub sessions help riders with a wide range of goals, which may include: trying a new sport, meeting new friends, improving fitness and confidence, rehabilitation from injury or training for competition.
Riders of any level are encouraged to attend these sessions. The Reading hub has a range of adapted equipment on site which includes handcycles, tandems and trikes, making the sessions accessible for all.
