A future venue for both the Midlands Championships and the final round of the National Trophy, Sundorne Sports Village bore witness to a close, heated battle between Westwood, Rob Burns (Wolverhampton Wheelers ), Tom Payton (Cult Racing) and Matt Gee (Raleigh).

The four rode the race together until the final lap, when Westwood and Burns broke free to sprint it out between themselves with Lee coming a demanding first, whilst Rob settled for second.

The veterans, juniors and women took to the start and it was Steve Knight (Team Jewson) who won the veterans, while Alex Welburn (CycleShack/Forme Coaching) was top junior on the day, finishing behind Steve.

It's not every week you see a Telenet-Fidea rider at your local ‘cross league, however GB superstar Nikki Harris eased her way to victory in the women's event.

The youth race was almost an exact replica of first round battle, with Danny Fox and Jack Ravenscroft (both Solihull CC) tussling for the win with Fox proving to be the stronger of the duo and taking the victory.
