Prominent Yorkshire cyclo-cross volunteer June Gilbert dies after operation

British Cycling has recently been advised of the death of prominent cyclo-cross volunteer June Gilbert.

June Gilbert was very active within Yorkshire cyclo-cross in the 1980s and 1990s when she also held positions of Treasurer and Handbook Secretary within the British Cyclo-Cross Association.

Yorkshire cyclo-cross riders will remember June primarily for the end-of season Madison cyclo-cross events which took place in her back garden.

June died following an operation and her funeral will take place on Wednesday 25th January at 13.30 at Huttcliffe Wood Crematorium, Sheffield.
