Entries are now open for the 2011-12 Cyclo Cross National Trophy Series and the 2012 Cyclo Cross National Championships.
The series once again comprises six events, with a mixture of familiar venues and those new to national competition. The action starts on 9th October at Temple Park, South Shields, making its debut in the competition, and the first visit of the Trophy series to the North East for several years. Round 2 is another new venue, Beaumont Leys Leisure Centre in Leicester, although it will be familiar to those who contested the Inter-Area Championships there for the last two years.
November sees a return to familiar venues, Southampton on 13th and last year's National Championship host Derby on 27th, with Bradford filling the pre-Christmas slot on 11th December. The final round, on 15th January 2012 is another series debutant, Shrewsbury Sports Village.
The 2012 National Championships take place over the weekend of 7th and 8th January 2012 at Chantry Park, Ipswich. Ipswich is no stranger to hosting the Nationals, but this will be the first time that the Chantry Park venue has been used. It is hoped that the full course to be utilized for the European Championships in November next year, will be unveiled.
