Great Britain Cycling Team squad named for Valkenburg UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup

A young Great Britain Cycling Team squad will compete at the Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup on Sunday in Valkenburg, Netherlands.

Five riders will race across the junior men’s and elite women’s events at the third round of 2016/17 series.

Ben Turner, Harry Yates, Toby Barnes and Thomas Mein will all race in the junior men’s event while Ffion James will ride in the elite women’s race.

Mein was second at the opening round of the British Cycling National Trophy Cyclo-cross Series in Derby, with Barnes fourth.  

Britain will also be represented by Kona Factory Team’s Helen Wyman, British champion Nikki Brammeier of Boels Dolmans Cycling Team and Amira Mellor in elite women’s race.

It is the first round to be held in Europe after the opening two rounds visited Las Vegas and Iowa City in the USA.

The Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup is being shown live on the UCI YouTube channel.
