Britain's Harris fifth at Koksijde UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup

Britain’s Nikki Harris continued her fine season with fifth in the elite women’s race at the second round of the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup in Koksijde, Belgium on Saturday.

European Championship bronze medallist Harris finished one minute and 18 seconds behind Belgian winner Sanne Cant, the European Champion, over the 15.14-kilometre race.

British champion Helen Wyman finished ninth, 64 seconds back from Harris. Wyman sits in fourth in the overall standings with Harris in sixth.  

Gabriella Durrin in 14th and Hannah Payton in 30th were also in action for Britain.

In the men’s race, British champion Ian Field was 24th, three minutes and 56 seconds behind winner Wout Van Aert, who completed the 29.14 kilometres in 1:02:34.

The next round of the world cup comes to Great Britain at Milton Keynes on the 29th November.
