Within schools, cycling can feature in education in ways you might not have imagined.
Through cycling, children can develop their bike skills while improving their maths and geography, with simple exercises that combine the subjects through practical and engaging exercises.
Children can calculate the distance to school and can work out the cost of repairing a bike, as well as planning routes, exploring local trails, investigating cycle paths and plotting a safe journey. Cycling fits into just about every subject from geography to science!
British Cycling delivers Bikeability Levels 1 and 2 to primary school pupils in years five and six, and Bikeability Level 3 to secondary school pupils in years seven, eight or nine.
