Event: 12 October 2013
Location: Ipswich Cycle Speedway
Report: Mel Perkins, Hethersett Hawks

Hethersett Hawks had a frustrating weekend with the only highlight being Danielle Riley's maximum at Ipswich which gave her the South-East Ladies Championship. The track was very heavy and it took its toll on the riders, especially Katie Adams who missed out on a podium place in the U16 Girls Championship by just one point.

Katie then joined Oliver Riley in the U16 team for the TA Security South-East Cup Fours but no other riders were available so the Hawks brought in a couple of guest riders and finished last. Riley was in good form dropping just three points.

In the Senior Cup Fours the Hawks had to bring in a guest for the exhausted Katie and they looked set for third place outright until they faded and allowed Kesgrave to peg them back in the final four heats.

Their frustrations continued on Sunday with the rescheduled final League matches at East London falling foul of the wet weather and the Hawks now face difficulties fitting these matches in before the end of the season.

Hawks riders will be at Harford Park in Norwich on Sunday for the penultimate South East Grand Prix.
