HETHERSETT HAWKS / SWINTON & CO are celebrating the success of Danielle Riley who capped a brilliant season by wining the final British girls' grand prix at Astley & Tyldesley in Lancashire and therefore won the overall Grand Prix Series. She blew the opposition away in her four qualifying races and then made a determined start from grid 2 in the Final to hit the front and never looked back wining by five bike lengths.

Katie Adams also competed in this category and rode well to reach the "B" Final but a rib injury impaired her start in the final and she trailed in fourth. Still overall 10th place in the series is something she can be proud of.

Oliver Riley scored 12 points in the U16s competition to only miss out on the A Final by countback. He made no mistake from the start of the B final to take the chequered flag - the grand prix points scored there taking him up to fifth in the overall series.

The two Rileys and Oliver Buxton picked up winners' trophies in the Norfolk Grand Prix series after the final round at Hethersett while Alfie Nixon (3rd) Katie Adams (2nd) and Carly Grimes (3rd) also picked up trophies in their categories. Phil Adams won the Senior round on the night.

Hethersett's final match at the Memorial Playing Field this season sees the East Anglian Championships staged there on Saturday starting at 11 a.m with the Under-10s followed by Under-13s, Under-16s then a combined Senior/Under-19 Final.

On Sunday several Hawks will be at Kesgrave for a round of the South East Grand Prix (12 noon).
