The sponsorship will include 8 perimeter hoardings, programme advertising and finals day hospitality. The agreement entails the company concerned will be 'title' sponsor of Cycle Speedway's flagship event.
The sponsorship fee is well over four figures. It brings the total income generated for the 2013 British Final to in excess of five figures - an astonishing sum for an amateur sports final. The identity of the 2013 British Final sponsor will be revealed after promotional pictures have been taken on Wednesday 24th April. The Coventry club will then release full details in a Media Release on Thursday 25 April at 12 noon.
Joe Mclaughlin was delighted with the news. He said: "I am delighted to confirm the Coventry club have secured a major sponsor. Everything is perfectly on course for a thrilling showcase final, one that will be remembered for many years to come".
With vast sponsorship secured, excitement continues to mount ahead of the British Final, expected to attract the biggest British Finals crowd for over 30 years. Already, the official British Finals Hotel, the Village Hotel, Earlsdon, Coventry has reached 75% capacity on the special discounted room rates for the finals.
The British Final will take place amid a backdrop of noise, colour and glamour. A covered grandstand will span the entire length of the home straight and a large LED video screen will aid match presentation and provide leader-board details. The Crew Promotions company will be providing start line personnel. There will be pre-meeting and interval attractions.
And, the finals are to become a Bank Holiday attraction for the people of Coventry to attend, raising the profile of the event still further. With the event holding no admission charge, and set in a lush green location nearby the city centre, hundreds of Coventry families are sure to be attracted to this glittering holiday weekend occasion.
A meeting held in the Godiva city on Thursday evening last, at The Maudslay Public House, by the Coventry club, produced scores of offers of finals day volunteers from the go-ahead Coventry club, who have enacted a miraculous revival of the sport at Hearsall Common in the past 18 months.
