Previously the hugely successful HSBC UK Go-Ride conferences and Cycle Sport Commissaires Conferences took place independently, but this year conferences will take on an exciting new format, bringing together Go-Ride Club volunteers and Cycle Sport officials.

The 2018 conferences will provide the opportunity for you to share your experiences, expand your network, and develop your delivery through interactive workshops.

With an event in each of the 10 regions and with lunch and refreshments provided through the day, it’s an event not to be missed.

The dates and venues for the 2018 Conferences have now been confirmed and bookings are now live. Places are limited so make sure you book now to secure your place.

Workshops

The morning workshops will address topics that bring together the different roles, providing the chance to have a wider conversation about the sport. The morning sessions will encourage discussion on topics such as coaching to racing and managing conflict whilst also sharing the latest updates from the talent development team.

The afternoon sessions will be role specific, and provide continuous professional development for commissaires, coaches and off-field volunteers.

Commissaires Workshop

This workshop will be split into two sections. The first covering topics that all commissaires deal with across disciplines at regional events, and the second looking at discipline specific questions and content, including the rules and regulation updates for each of the disciplines present.

It is a great opportunity to network with other commissaires and share best practice to help you in your role in the future.

Coaches Workshop

This year’s workshop looks at differentiating your coaching to better engage all club riders. It will provide coaches with some ideas about how they can design activities to engage different groups and abilities of rider, by challenging their thinking, technical and physical skills.

Go-Ride Contacts Workshop

(Contacts, Secretaries, Club Volunteers, Young Volunteers and Helpers)

This workshop will look at club philosophy and how to deliver a great experience for the people at your club. It will explore club’s primary focus, how this is marketed and how club’s currently engage with their members, with a focus on recruitment and retention of both riders and volunteers.

Nominations for the Go-Ride Club & Volunteer Awards are open until 22 December. Recognise the contribution and efforts of those you know by filling in the survey.
