Job Title: Sponsorship Manager

Tell us about your commuting rig:
Trek 1.2. road bike

What’s your commute like?
Four miles through busy Manchester city centre traffic.

How many days a week do you commute by bike?
I try to do 5 days a week. My gym is also near work so ride out at the weekends as well.

What do you enjoy the most about bike commuting?
Saving money, keeping active and being able to annoy Gavin because I ride more than him.

What’s your least favourite thing about commuting by bike?
Bad weather.

What are your main reasons to commute by bike?
It’s quicker and cheaper than the bus.

What’s your killer commuting tip?
In city centres, ride in the centre of lanes so you can be seen. This makes cars go round you rather than just trying to squeeze past.

How does your British Cycling membership support your bike commuting?
I think it is about strength in numbers, so while the membership benefits are great the real positive for me is just encouraging more people to get on bikes so motorists are more aware of riders.
