Tell us about your commuting rig: Just a basic mountain bike but changed the tyres to reinforced so only had one puncture in three years.

The highs and lows of Ricky's commute
What’s your commute like? I commute 17 miles each way from Elstree, Hertfordshire to London Bridge. Door to door the train takes one hour and by bike just 1hr 15mins so not that much more time. Brent Cross flyover can be a bit dodgy but seeing the giraffes as I pass London Zoo in the morning makes up for it.
How many days a week do you commute by bike? Three days per week
What do you enjoy the most about bike commuting? The freedom. No timetables or other commuters coughing and sneezing all over me. Saving £35 per week. Keeping fit. The list goes on.
What’s your least favourite thing about commuting by bike? Rain.
What are your main reasons to commute by bike? Saving train fares and keeping fit.
Killer commuting tip? Bright colours. Be seen.
Are you a British Cycling Member? If so how does your British Cycling membership support your bike commuting? Yes, I’m a British Cycling member and having the insurance for peace of mind is invaluable especially when cycling in central London. Also fighting our corner for more cycle lanes is a bonus.
