Coaching

Coaching Homepage

Effective coaching is at the heart of cycling performance at every level so it doesn’t matter if you want to teach core bike-handling skills to future generations or have aspirations to mentor Great Britain’s elite, British Cycling has a coaching course that will help you achieve your goals.

Starting out in cycling is exciting, fun and above all straightforward. Click the links on the left to see an introduction to our awards as well as a detailed breakdown of each of our coaching qualifications and CPD workshops.

Coaching: Staying motivated in winter

It’s now deepest, darkest winter; a time when many of us are putting our coaching on hold until the spring. It’s good to take some time to recharge your batteries, however you don’t need to wait until the lighter days to get back into coaching.

Continuous professional development: Take your coaching further

Just like the best riders, effective coaches constantly strive for personal improvement. To do this requires specific and deliberate practice, which is where Continuous Professional Development (CPD) comes in.

Update to Guidelines for Coaching Cycling

British Cycling has recently updated its Guidelines for Coaching Cycling, adding to the information presented and improving the general usability of the document as a reference tool for coaches.
