The two race coaching Go-Ride clusters based in Lancashire and Cumbria have come together to form a super cluster with aim of promoting a series of race orientated coaching sessions for young North West female riders.
The active coaches in the two cluster have said: “We will be organising a series of three cluster "girls only" sessions throughout the months of April, May and June.
“With consideration, we will be planning these sessions to encourage more girls to experience competitive cycling in a friendly and encouraging environment. These sessions will provide an opportunity for girls to learn from each other as well as experienced female coaches. It is expected that by the end of these sessions, riders will take away a renewed level of confidence in their racing and to have developed techniques which they can hold onto and transfer into the racing arena.”
Who are they for?
These sessions have been organised for second year youth C and above, up to junior girls. Early booking is advisable as we anticipate this to be a popular event. Online entry is open now - click the links below.

Saturday 30 June - Salt Ayre, Lancaster: 11am - 4.00pm
The development of these sessions is fully supported by Tim Buckle, the regional Talent Development Coach for the North West and West Midlands.
Buckle commented: “These are just another expression of what clubs can achieve by pooling their enthusiasm knowledge, and facilities with the clear objective that more, better bike racers are what we need.
“Hopefully over time the need for clusters will reduce and these active clubs will have specific facilities, bigger numbers of riders and the volunteer resources so that they can service the bigger numbers but, at this time cluster are a much needed and fantastic initiative.”
