British Cycling is supporting a new project researching under-represented groups within sport, which will explore how people learn to coach.

The study, 'Investigating the culture of coach education in the UK: Implications for the development of under-represented groups', is a joint project between sports coach UK and the University of Worcester and will focus on cycling, gymnastics, equestrian and rowing.

As part of this, British Cycling is looking for coaches who would be willing to share their experience by speaking to researchers at the University of Worcester. We are particularly interested to hear from three under-represented groups – women, people from black and minority ethnicities, and coaches with an impairment or disability.

It doesn’t matter whether you are an experienced coach, new to coaching or even just thinking about getting involved for the first time.

Through learning from success stories and making positive change, we hope the study will provide British Cycling with a real opportunity to make cycling more inclusive.

It would be fantastic if you would be willing to be interviewed as part pf the study. This would involve approximately 20 to 40 minutes of your time on the phone or via Skype.

If you think you might be able to help us out, please contact Don Vinson at the University of Worcester via email on d.vinson@worc.ac.uk who will send you more details. We would really appreciate it if you could please share this information with anyone who might be able to get involved with the study.
