About our club
Established in 1882, Southgate Cycling Club has the distinction of being amongst the very earliest cycling clubs in the world.
In the modern era, our mission is to embrace the new popularity of cycling, whilst paying tribute to our illustrious history and traditions.
The club organises and participates in a variety of cycling events in and around north London, the counties of Hertfordshire and Essex and surrounding areas, as well as UK and international cycling tours.
The mainstay of the club are our two Sunday Club Rides ('Touring' and 'Training') which each week attract up to 40 riders for a non-competitive spin out into the countryside. We also run a 10 mile and 25k Time Trial series throughout June and July, a Hill Climb challenge in September or October, and regular club social nights throughout the year.
