About our club

HOPE Velo has evolved from recreational cyclists getting involved in different charity cycling challenges for the Leicester based cancer research charity Hope Against Cancer. www.hfcr.org, and we are at the point where we would like to make HOPE Velo Club into a formal club rather than social.

In doing so, will allow the club to be affiliated to BC and the benefits therein, allow some of our cyclists the option to race under the Hope Velo club name and also give us more credibility to encourage new and inexperienced cyclists/members to join our regular weekly (March-October) social rides.

Although still linked to the charity by names, the club will be run totally separate from Hope Against Cancer, with the only connection being a representative from Hope Against Cancer will be one our committee members.

The aim of the club is to encourage more novice and experienced cyclists to get involved in cycling through being part of a different cycling club. We would also be looking to get more females interested in joining a cycling club especially one linked directly linked to a local charity. This can only benefit all parties.

All those involved with the club will be volunteers and not be paid for running the club.
