About our club

We are an active group of cyclists who proudly call each other friends. Founded by enthusiasts who enjoy riding road bikes regularly, we cycle throughout the year.

Many people join us as part of a lifestyle change, regardless of age. Cycle Mickleover (CM) is the perfect club to help you achieve your goals. Our friendly group rides offer a chance to improve your cycling skills, make new friends, and have fun simultaneously.

Our members range from experienced cyclists to newcomers, and everyone is welcome. We encourage less confident riders to start with our introductory rides and follow the advice of our Ride Leaders to find the right ability group for our Sunday rides. As your confidence and fitness improve, you can join different speed groups, always finding a faster cyclist to ride alongside or draft behind, challenging yourself to ride further, increase your average speed, or conquer that challenging climb.

We share route details, including total distance, elevation, and average speed per group, via Facebook. This allows CM cyclists to make informed decisions based on their current fitness and health, ensuring a safe and enjoyable ride. Registered members can download the routes onto their GPS devices for easy navigation.

Our Ride Leaders are volunteers who love cycling and are passionate about sharing their enthusiasm. They are happy to offer advice on technique, hydration, and nutrition. After your first trial ride, we will invite you to complete a membership form and officially join our club.

We use Facebook to share routes, promote spontaneous rides planned at short notice, and announce social events. It is a closed group, and new members must complete and return the application form. Cycle Mickleover trusts that all members genuinely wish to cycle as part of a group and encourages everyone to join us on a ride.
