About our league

For details of the Derby Arena Youth Track League, check out its Facebook page.

A competitive adult track league based at Derby Arena.
Two 10 week blocks run each year, 1 in spring, 1 in autumn.
Annual (runs Jan to Dec) league registration via BC website. Generally opens up December for the following year.

Weekly entry to race nights via BC website.

There are 4 ability groups: 1, 2, 3, 4.
All groups are open to junior and older, male and female riders.

Group 1 riders – accredited and very experienced track riders that have raced in other indoor or outdoor track leagues and track competitions e.g. national Omnium series, sprinters’ league etc. Standard - fast. The top 8 riders in the group are guaranteed a place if they enter on line.

Group 2 riders – accredited track riders who have some experience of track racing and or a minimum of 20 hours track time (via SQTs or private or club training sessions). Standard - fairly fast. The top 8 riders in the group are guaranteed a place if they enter on line.

Group 3 riders – accredited riders who have some experience of track racing and have completed a minimum of 10 hours track time (via SQTs or private or club training sessions) in the last 12 months. Standard medium to fast. The top 12 riders in the group are guaranteed a place if they enter on line.

Group 4 riders - accredited riders who have no or limited experience of track racing but have completed a minimum of 10 hours track time in the last 12 months (via SQTs or private or club training sessions). Standard - medium. May suit older or less fit riders. 10 places will be reserved for women if there are sufficient entries. The top 12 riders in the group are guaranteed a place if they enter on line. Riders in this group are restricted to gearing of no larger than 92.

To race, BC members must have BC membership, a race licence, (gold or silver BC membership the easiest option but not the only option) register for the league (annual registration fee of £20 which runs from 01/01 to 31/12 each year) AND enter each weekly session via the BC web site.

For the safety of all riders, applications to register are assessed for competence. If we know you, know how you ride and are happy with it, your registration will be accepted straight away.

If we don't recognise your name, we will try to find out more about your experience by asking the Arena coaches, or coming back to you directly for more information, before making a decision to accept or not your registration.

You are not registered until you receive a confirmation of registration email.
