About our club
Folkestone Velo Club is a friendly local club offering cycle sport for all. We formed in September 2012 and very quickly become Folkestone's #1 road cycling club attracting more than 90 members. We offer a wide range of rides, including training rides and socially paced club runs and our annual Spain training camp!.
We use twitter (@fvcofficial) and facebook but primarily our members only “Team App”as a virtual clubhouse to organise ourselves as this allows all members to help shape our club. Our focus is road cycling for fitness.
We have a very active group of lady riders and especially welcome more ladies to join.
Riding with a cycling club can seem daunting at first, club rides always start by meeting at Cafe La Delizia, Bouverie Place, Folkestone (8am Saturday's and 9am Sunday's). For new members we will talk you through things like what to carry with you, how to ride in group formation, teach you hand signals and what to call out during the ride before we roll out.
New members are encouraged to join our Sunday ride for an informal assessment and introduction to the club. Please introduce yourself to the ride captains who wear distinctive grey and pink kit.
New members always welcome.
